ONE MILLION HOCKEY LEGS (1MHL) Mahindra partners with the Bovelander Hockey Academy to support the 1MHL campaign

               
In support of the 1MHL campaign, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. – Auto, Farm & Agri Sector designed the Nashik Hockey Tournament – 12 Schools 24 Teams 2 months of Hockey Training 1 Hockey Tournament. The Nashik Hockey Tournament culminated after a week’s ‘Train the Trainer’ Program by the Bovelander Hockey Academy for the 12 Coaches followed by a rigorous two months in-school training. The program was closely monitored by Miss Supriya Gangurde, State and National Level Hockey Player, Coach – under 15 Girls Hockey Clubs and Coach for K N Kela Hockey Team. NGO Partner, MelJol closely monitored the program while delivering execution excellence.

               
On 1st September, 2018 Mahindra was part of yet another ‘Rise for Good’ momentum. The Nashik Inter School Hockey Tournament brought life into 12 Girl and 12 Boy Teams who competed in a fair fight to the top.

K N Kela High School, Jail Road won both, the Girls and Boys group, 1st place Trophies with Maratha High School, Gangapur Road winning again both Girls and Boys group, 2nd place Trophies. Deolali High School, Deolali Camp, won 3rd place in the Boys group and New English School, Dhondgaon won 3rd place in the Girls group. And, though all were winners, some outstanding players deserved to win the coveted ‘Best Player’ Award, Master Sameer Donde – Nashik Municipal School No. 56, Miss Kesari Patil – Maratha High School, Miss. Sanika More – Baglan English Medium School and Master Sahil Pansare – C S Maharaj High School were four winners who played some exceptional hockey. The highpoint of the day was the ‘Best Disciplined’ Trophy that went to the Girls of the Zilla Parishad Urdu High School, Ghoti.

Chief Guest of the event, Capt. Abhay Lambhate, General Manager – CSR (Auto Farm and Agri Sector) rightly said “sport builds character and discipline and hockey as a sport has all but faded into the shadow. As Indians we need to nurture and bring back the sport to its rightful glory while giving every child the right to choose to play hockey.”
